Outta Here

As you all probably know, the last nine months have been pretty rough. Pop Faust lost his battle with cancer and everything else in my life had to be put on hold to care for him while he was dying. Now that he’s gone, I’ve been struggling to catch up and get my life back to something in the neighborhood of normal. My version of normal, anyway.

To that end, I’m gonna fuck off for a few days. Just hit the road and hit the reset button. So I’m going to Texas.

Why West Texas? Because I’ve got another one of my topic crushes. A crush that may grow up to be the third Angel Dare book. That crush is rodeo, and the setting (subject to change, like everything in life) is West Texas. Plus, I really need to spend some time somewhere I’ve never been, out in the middle of nowhere by myself. To think about stuff. Or not. Mostly just be in the world, not at my desk.

I’ve always believed that writing requires an input/output system and sometimes I need to go refill the tank with real experience before I can sit back down and write about make-believe stuff.

Anyway, I’ll be posting mostly on Instagram along the way, if you want to follow my adventures.

Later, Alligators.

Have a great trip, Christa. And write another great book about the adventures you’re sure to have.
