PEEPLAND

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably heard the big news about PEEPLAND, the gritty crime/noir comic series written by me and Gary Phillips, with art by Andrea Camerini and published in the brand new Hard Case Crime line from Titan. It’s set in the Times Square peep booths where I used to work and takes place in the final days of 1986.

If you want to order the first issue, here are the order codes for all five variant covers. Bring this info to your friendly neighborhood comic shop, tell em you can’t live without it, and add it to your pull list.

I can’t explain how thrilled I am about this project, which has been more than 5 years in the making. It’s probably the most personal and autobiographical thing I’ve ever written. A love letter to the pre-genrtricfication New York City where I grew up.
But, despite the fact that the central idea for the story is my personal baby, I couldn’t have done this without my redoubtable tag-team partner Gary. He’s the crafty veteran to my loudmouth rookie, and graciously put up with all my freshman fuck-ups while providing invaluable on-the-job training in the fine art of writing funnybooks. He ultimately made the final product a thousand times better than anything I could have come up with on my own.
I hope you all have as much fun reading it as we did writing it.
